On December 13th 2018, Jemson Cabinetry was awarded 3rd place in the Susquehanna Valley Chapter of the National Kitchen & Bath Association contest for kitchen remodels in the $40 - $70k range.

The event was held at the historic Star Barn Village in Elizabethtown, PA with up to 100 people in attendance. The judging panel from the Denver Chapter of the NKBA reviewed the entries and made their assessment for winning entries in each category. Jemson Cabinetry was awarded 3rd place for kitchen remodels in the $40,001 to $75,000 range. Other categories included Bathrooms, Powder Rooms, Outdoor Kitchens, Residential Cabinetry and Best Before and After.

Kitchen Remodel Overview:

“In this particular project, the homeowners desired not only a fresh look and finish, but also a major change in the layout and functionality of the kitchen.” Comments, David Palm, Owner & President of Jemson Cabinetry. “Also, to accommodate their growing family, they wanted a large island for storage and seating for at least 4 persons.

Additional storage was a very important need as well. Additional requests were for a built-in microwave, wood hood, and space for a TV.” Palm explains, “The existing kitchen had large built in pantry and attached powder room. Due to the proximity of the powder room in the adjacent laundry, this bath and the pantry were removed. This increased the kitchen floor space by 6’ allowing for the large island with plenty of room for seating. The existing plumbing was utilized for a small wet bar and refreshment center with under counter refrigerator and a great place for the microwave. Additional space was added by increasing the heights of all wall cabinets and the pantry units all have rollout shelves to maximize accessibility and storage.”

“The homeowners couldn’t be happier with the results of a complete upgrade to their main living space.” The entire project took approximately six weeks to complete.

Jemson Cabinetry has vast experience in helping you choose the right design, materials, cabinets and finishes for your bath and kitchen project.

You may say “What should I bring along to the showroom”. Here is a quick guide to help prepare for a visit and discussions about your project with a Jemson Cabinetry design consultant:

1. Pictures. Bring pictures. Gather them from magazines or from internet sites like Pinterest or Houzz.com. Take some pictures of your project area to use as a visual reference. This will help guide the designer toward proper selections that match styles and tastes.

Collect pictures that include styles, materials, layouts, and anything that helps you to imagine your space.

2. Materials and Finishes. Bring along paint swatches, wood samples, or any items that would help to guide the designer and streamline the selection process.

3. Plans and Drawings. For a new home or addition, remodel or any project that involves plans, make sure you bring them with you. This helps for layout, sizing and spacing for your project.

4. Likes and Dislikes. Bring a list of what you like and what you don’t. From finishes, to cabinets, styles, colors, materials, etc. having a compiled list makes it easier during the selection process.

5. Budget Range. Try to develop a basic budgetary range that you are looking to invest in your project. Your Jemson Cabinetry designer will help to guide you in the right direction to keep your design and project on budget and show you where you can save money.

The Jemson Cabinetry showroom has a wide variety of styles, examples, materials, cabinetry, appliances, countertops, flooring and so much more.
