Closet Organization Tips

It’s time to treat your closet just like any other room in the house!
Step 1: Declutter
Using Discardia’s closet decluttering trick, you’ll find out what you actually wear and don’t
wear. Start by turning all of your hangers around so the hooks point towards you. Set a reminder in your phone for six months from the day you do this. When you wear something, put it back by hooking it the normal way. When that reminder goes off on your phone, any items on hangers pointing towards you should be discarded.
Step 2: Sorting/Organizing
Put your most used items at eye level, the lesser used items lower, and the least used items
in your closet up high. Purchase additional storage items for inside your closet. Hangers for suits and dresses, drawers for folded items, and boxes for odds and ends. Use Rubbermaid bins to store items from past seasons. Treat your closet like a small room. Keep it organized, keep it clean, just like you would your most used and occupied rooms of the house. A rolling cart with small storage boxes is an amazing option for those odds and ends.
Step 3: Finishing Touches
Add lights inside your closet so you can see and use what you’ve kept! For smaller spaces, remove doors and add curtains to your closet instead. Add hooks to the inner walls for items like purses, ties, or scarves.
